Long Beach police sought the public’s help Friday in finding a teenager who sexually molested an 11-year-old Long Beach boy after dragging him to a wooden shed.

The Jan. 29 attack occurred near Hill Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in west Long Beach, said Nancy Tabing of the Long Beach Police Department.

The suspect is described as a 15- to 18-year-old black male. He is short and stocky, weighing about 200 pounds and standing 5 feet 5, with brown eyes, short black hair and a “high-pitched voice,” police said. He had a diamond earring in his left ear and acne scars on his cheeks.

The 11-year-old victim was walking home and was at the entrance of an alley when he was knocked unconscious by a blow to the back of the neck, police said.

When the victim regained consciousness, he was being dragged into a shed behind a house in the 2100 block of King Avenue, Tabing said.

The suspect then started to sexually assault the boy but stopped when he heard a noise outside, she said. The victim escaped at that point.

The suspect was last seen riding a chrome scooter west on 21st Street from Myrtle Avenue.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. John McBride at (562) 570-7259.
