3 Hurt in Taxiway Collision at LAX

An airport police car collided with a baggage tow vehicle on a taxiway at Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday night, injuring three people, authorities said. Air traffic was unaffected by the crash.

Two airport policemen, ages 26 and 29, were taken by helicopter to UCLA Medical Center, where they were listed in critical and stable condition, airport spokesman Harold Johnson said. The baggage vehicle driver was taken to King-Drew Medical Center and was listed in serious condition, Johnson said.

The accident occurred near the United Airlines maintenance hangar shortly after 8 p.m., Johnson said.
