Despite being only five for 28 from three-point range this season, Kansas freshman Keith Langford wasn’t afraid to put it up one more time.

It turned out to be the biggest shot of his career.

Langford made a three-point shot with 33 seconds to play and the No. 1-ranked Jayhawks rallied to defeat Nebraska, 88-87, Sunday to clinch the Big 12 Conference regular-season title for the first time in four years.

“I figured if it was coming my way I was going to go up and shoot it,” said Langford, who finished with seven points. “You play basketball to be in that type of situation.”

Kansas (25-2, 14-0) overcame a 12-point deficit in the second half to win their 12th in a row, trailing for nearly all of the final 15 minutes. The Jayhawks’ Drew Gooden had 26 points and 14 rebounds.

John Robinson and Cary Cochran each scored 22 points to lead the Cornhuskers (12-13, 5-9), who had a school-record 18 three-point baskets.

In the final seconds, Robinson missed a shot inside the three-point line.
