Selig’s Situation Is Far From Rosy
So Bud Selig broke the rules of major league baseball by taking a $3-million loan from a fellow owner (who now stands to make about $50 million off that investment by way of contraction) without the consent of the rest of the owners, and the owners rally around Selig saying it’s OK.
Yet Pete Rose is still denied a return to major league baseball and entry into the Hall of Fame, and the reason we are always given for this: “He broke the rules of baseball!”
Sounds like a double standard to me. If Selig doesn’t step down immediately, his next move should be to let Rose back into baseball and into the Hall.
