Killing of Vehicle Thief Justified, Officials Say
Prosecutors have determined that three Oxnard police officers were justified in fatally shooting a man who stole a sport utility vehicle and attempted to run them over, officials said Tuesday.
Beau Kirnol Blain, 28, of Culver City was shot five times June 9 after he led Los Angeles police on a 40-mile, high-speed chase from Marina del Rey to Oxnard in a stolen sport utility vehicle.
In Oxnard, Blain hit several parked cars near Oxnard Boulevard and Gonzales Road, spun the vehicle around and drove at officers who were standing outside their patrol cars with guns drawn.
