Reward Offered in Mailbag Robberies
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrests and convictions of those responsible for stealing mail from two postal workers in Oxnard.
On Dec. 13, someone entered a mail truck in the 2500 block of Saviers Road, shoved the driver to the side and grabbed two mailbags before fleeing down an alley, officials said. On Jan. 10, a man entered a postal truck on Rice Avenue and ordered the employee to drive to a secluded area, where the man grabbed a mailbag and fled in a car with another man, officials said.
Officials do not know whether the robberies are linked. Anyone with information on the crimes is urged to call postal inspectors at (626) 405-1208.
