Thatcher Statue May Join Old London Bridge
A giant statue of one of Britain’s best known politicians could be about to join the old London Bridge in Arizona, a newspaper said today.
The 2-ton marble figure of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher is eventually destined for the Members’ Lobby of the House of Commons, but the rules dictate that it can’t be erected until five years after her death.
In the meantime, no suitable resting place can be found in Britain, but the Sunday Telegraph said the 8-foot statue had attracted the attention of Lake Havasu City in Arizona, already famous as the home since 1969 of the old London Bridge.
