Helicopter Crash Kills French Peacekeeper
From Times Wire Reports
A helicopter from Bosnia’s NATO-led peacekeeping force crashed into the Adriatic Sea, killing a French soldier and injuring two others, military officials said.
The Gazelle helicopter with three crew members on board crashed near the Croatian coastal town of Kardeljevo, about 20 miles from the Bosnian border, a statement said. Croatian fishermen had alerted authorities to the crash and made the first rescue attempts, it said.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known, a spokesman for the peacekeepers said.
