Argyroses Pledge $1 Million for Pupils

Orange County businessman George Argyros and his wife, Julia, have pledged $1 million to fund college scholarships for California high school students through the Horatio Alger Assn. of Distinguished Americans.
The money will be given over four years and fund 400 scholarships of $2,500 each. Applicants must demonstrate need and a minimum 2.0 grade-point average.
