Public Displays of Patriotism

Cities and communities across Los Angeles County will host marching bands, barbecues, fireworks displays and other traditional entertainment in celebration of Independence Day.

All events will be held Thursday and many are free.

Some venues offer entertainment before the fireworks begin, and those that charge admission may be sold out.

Fireworks shows generally start at 9 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

Alhambra: Almansor Park, 800 S. Almansor St.

Artesia: Artesia Community Park, 12000 South St.

Avalon: Fireworks ignited off barge with viewing from Front Street.

Baldwin Park: Baldwin Park High School, 3900 Puente Ave.

Bell Gardens: John Anson Ford Park, 8000 Scout Ave.

Burbank: Starlight Bowl, 1249 Lockheed View Drive. $16.

Calabasas: Calabasas High School, 22855 W. Mulholland Hwy. $7.

Castaic: Castaic Lake Recreation Area, 32132 Castaic Lake Drive. $25 per car.

Cerritos: Cerritos Park East, 13234 E. 166th St.

Claremont: Pomona College, 6th Street and Mills Avenue. $8.

Commerce: Rosewood Park, 2535 Commerce Way.

Cudahy: Cudahy Park, 5220 Santa Ana St.

Culver City: Culver City High School athletic field near the corner of Huron and Braddock. $2 adults, $1 children; $4 parking.

Diamond Bar: Sycamore Canyon Park, 22930 Golden Springs Drive.

El Segundo: El Segundo Recreation Park, 401 Sheldon St.

Gardena: Rowley Park, 13220 S. Van Ness Ave.

Lancaster: Antelope Valley Fairgrounds, 155 E. Avenue I.

La Verne: Bonita High School, 3102 D St. $6 adults, $5 for children 5-12, free for children 4 and younger.

Long Beach: Veterans Stadium, 5000 E. Lew Davis St. $9, $6 for seniors and children 5-11, free for children 4 and younger.

Lynwood: Lynwood City Park, 11301 Bullis Road.

Malibu: Fireworks ignited from barge off shore with viewing at 27600 and 33014 Pacific Coast Hwy.

Marina del Rey: Fireworks ignited from a barge in the main channel with viewing from Burton Chace Park, 13650 Mindanao Way, and Fisherman’s Village on Fiji Way.

Maywood: Maywood City Park, 4801 E. 58th St.

Montebello: Grant Rea Park, 600 N. Rea Drive.

Monterey Park: Barnes Park Amphitheater, 320 W. Newmark Ave.

Norwalk: Cerritos College, 11110 E. Alondra Blvd.

Pacific Palisades: Palisades Charter High School, 15777 Bowdoin St.

Palmdale: Palmdale High School, 2137 E. Avenue R.

Pomona: Los Angeles County Fairgrounds, 1101 W. McKinley Ave. Parking $6 at Gate 17 on Fairplex Drive. Fireworks at 9:15 p.m. $10-$17.50, free for children 2 and younger.

Porter Ranch: Shepherd of the Hills Church, 19700 Rinaldi St. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Redondo Beach: Redondo Beach Pier, 100 W. Torrance Blvd. Parking $7.

Rosemead: Rosemead Park, 9200 Mission Ave.

Studio City: CBS Studio Center, 4024 Radford Ave. $20, $10 for children 6-12, free for children 5 and younger.

Sunland-Tujunga: Verdugo Hills High School, 10625 Plainview Ave. $6, $5 for children 5-12, free for children 4 and younger.

Torrance: Charles Wilson Park, 2200 Crenshaw Blvd. Parking $5.

Valencia: Six Flags Magic Mountain, 26101 Magic Mountain Parkway. Fireworks approximately 9:40 p.m. Regular park admission applies.

Walnut: Walnut High School, 400 N. Pierre Road. $5, $3 for children 3-12, free for children 2 and younger.

West Covina: West Covina High School, 1609 E. Cameron Ave.

Whittier: York Field, 9110 Santa Fe Springs Road. $5, free for children 4 and younger.

Woodland Hills: Warner Park, 5800 Topanga Canyon Blvd.
