Campus Locked Down in Gunpowder Incident
Manual Arts High School was locked down two hours Friday and a building evacuated, after a student poured gunpowder from fireworks into a bottle, officials said.
A security guard saw the student making the device outside a classroom, said Ed Robillard, the principal. The teenager and bottle were taken to the administration building, which was evacuated after the LAPD bomb squad was called. The student was arrested.
