Plenty of Stakes to Consider From All Angles

Share

There will be four stakes tonight featuring Arabians, appaloosas, paints and even some quarter horses.

There will be a pair of $20,000 futurities for 3-year-old Arabians, the $13,500 Sunset Futurity for 2-year-old paints and appaloosas and the $15,000 Rapid Champ Handicap for 3-year-old quarter horses on the 11-race program.

In the filly division of the Firecracker Futurity, trainer Billy Lewis will send out three of the six entrants, topped by firster Rodania Arbi, who has trained well for her bow.

In the male division of the Firecracker, Lewis again has three of the participants, including Amazing Proof and Favoritt, who ran 1-2 in a maiden race on June 23.

Kates Flyer, who was impressive in her bow in April, tops the lineup in the Sunset at 350 yards, and Mykrytal and Rail Skimmer, who finished a nose apart on June 15, will renew their rivalry in the Rapid Champ at 870 yards. The small field is completed by Keats, Coolmore and Fiery Beduino.

The picks: 1. Rotary Delight. 2. Lanes Cash. 3. Rodania Arbi. 4. She Reigns. 5. Kates Flyer. 6. High Stakes Trip. 7. Amazing Proof. 8. Beda Special. 9. Rail Skimmer. 10. Imjumpn. 11. Runaway Royal.

Four! Use Rotary Delight and Leaving The Fire in the first, use all in the second, use Ferda Arabi and Rodania Arbi in the third and single She Reigns in the fourth.

Shots in the dark: King Lear adds Lasix in the fifth after a slow start in his debut May 26 for trainer Connie Hall. EJ Cashanovah adds Lasix in the seventh after finishing second against maidens last month.
