Chase Ends in Arrest; 3 Police Cars Rammed
Three Costa Mesa police cars were rammed early Saturday by a driver who led officers on a 30-minute chase that ended in his arrest.
Terry Harper, 44, of Santa Ana was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on police officers and residents, as well as for possession of methamphetamine and failure to yield.
The chase started about 12:50 a.m. Saturday when someone reported that a pickup near Fair Drive and Harbor Boulevard had attempted to hit several vehicles.
By the time the pursuit ended with police blocking and ramming the truck near Newport and Harbor boulevards, at least three police cars had sustained moderate damage. No injuries were reported.
