In Black and White

Re the July 6 beating of Donovan Jackson: I was once cited for having expired tags on my car. It was civil, polite, almost apologetic. My teenage son, in the passenger seat beside me, munched pretzels through the whole thing. We drove away with a little written notice that I had a certain amount of time to correct the situation. I’m not a celebrity; I don’t drive a fancy car. I’m just white.

What part of brutal, unnecessary, improper, illegal and outrageous does the very clear video of the dreadful incident in Inglewood not address? I’ve seen more furor from high-profile voices over the felling of a tree.
