Police Still Seeking Man in Assault on Woman
Oxnard police are still looking for a man who assaulted a woman in a parking lot last week.
He was described as 5-feet-8, 170 pounds, Spanish-speaking and between 30 and 35 years old, police spokesman David Keith said. He has black hair, brown eyes, a dark complexion, facial acne scars and a mole on his left cheek. He also may have scratches on his face from the July 23 incident.
A 24-year-old woman told police she was walking in the 700 block of Oxnard Boulevard about 2:30 a.m. when a passenger in a green, four-door Toyota Camry with tinted windows stepped out and began following her.
She said that the man grabbed her, forcing her into a parking lot, and that she scratched him during the struggle.
The man ran away when passersby entered the area. The driver sped away.
Anyone who sees a man matching the description is asked to call 911. Anyone with other information about the case is asked to call Det. Ken Klopman at 385-7759 or Det. Dave Klug at 385-7662.
