The article “How to Get a Passport” (May 12) stated that an adult passport is $60 and a passport for children younger than 16 is $40. These fees include a $15 execution fee, which is payable to the facility that accepts the application. If your application is accepted at a courthouse or post office the $15 is payable to that agency. The fee to Passport Services is then $45 for an adult and $25 for children younger than 16. A separate check or money order would be needed for the execution fees.

In addition, adults renewing by mail may do so only if they can submit their most recent unmutilated and undamaged passport, issued within the last 12 years. The passport must have been issued in the applicant’s current name, and the applicant must have been 16 or older at the time of issue. Children 16 and younger are not eligible to renew and must reapply every five years.

The Sourcebook (May 12) is a fantastic resource. I have bookmarked the online version at www.latimes.com/travel/source book.

In future issues, add travel resources for gay and lesbian travelers to “Sources for Niches and Needs.” As an avid traveler, a loyal reader of the Los Angeles Times and a gay man, I would appreciate more coverage for gay and lesbian travelers. There are several fine companies that cater to gays and lesbians. Please expand your coverage.
