Mother’s Boyfriend to Be Tried in Attack on Boy, 5
A judge on Wednesday ordered a Pasadena man to stand trial for attempted murder and torture for an alleged attack on his girlfriend’s 5-year-old son, authorities said.
Pablo Robles Galicia, 34, is also charged with one count of aggravated mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon and three different counts for sexual assaults, including attempted sodomy.
Pasadena police said the boy’s mother found her son badly beaten in their home in the 1100 block of North Lake Avenue on Feb. 27. Galicia was arrested that day, police said. The boy had to be hospitalized for several weeks. Galicia is due back at the Pasadena courthouse June 20 for arraignment. He is being held in lieu of $1.6-million bail, authorities said.
