Toledo Dismisses Attar After Off-Campus Fight
UCLA senior Audie Attar, a linebacker expected to contend for a starting position, was dismissed from the team Wednesday after being involved in a fight.
University police are investigating the incident, which occurred off campus, and no arrests have been made.
“I feel this decision is in the best interests of the program,” Coach Bob Toledo said. “It’s unfortunate I have to take this action, but this is not the first time Audie has violated team policy.”
Attar, a key special teams member the last three seasons, believes the dismissal is not merited.
“I don’t agree with the decision,” he said. “I feel it was premature and I would hope Coach Toledo would consider an appeal.”
