Spectators Injured in Stadium Falls
A fan at Monday’s game between Portugal and Poland fell from the upper tier of the stands and into a concrete moat surrounding the field at Jeonju, leaving him in critical condition with head injuries.
Another spectator fell from the upper tier but landed on seats. He was in stable condition and was expected to be released from a hospital within a day.
The more seriously injured fan, from Scotland, had cerebral bleeding and was undergoing surgery late Monday night. There was no information about how they fell.
