Very Pink Lemonade

TIMES STAFF WRITER

Combine tart, fresh lemons with the ripest, juiciest watermelon you can find for this refreshing hot-weather drink. It’s a good alternative to popular high-calorie coffee drinks, shakes or floats.

Depending on the sweetness of the watermelon, you may want to add more or less sugar. Tasters in the Times Test Kitchen liked it best on the tangy side. If you’re having a party, serve this drink in a large glass pitcher and garnish with mint sprigs and a lemon twist.
