Kaiser President to Step Down in July

Share

L. Dale Crandall, president and chief operating officer of Kaiser Permanente, is leaving the state’s largest nonprofit health-care organization in July.

Kaiser spokeswoman Beverly Hayon said Crandall’s departure was not unexpected after George C. Halvorson replaced Dr. David M. Lawrence as chairman and chief executive in May. Halvorson will assume the duties of president.

Crandall, 60, did not say what he would do next.

Crandall joined Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals--two of Kaiser’s three major units--in 1998. The third is Permanente Medical Groups.
