A Sniffing Glass for the Tequila Connoisseur

Share

This tall, slim glass from Riedel Crystal isn’t for wine--it’s designed to show off the aromas and flavors of fine tequilas. Introduced recently in Mexico, the glass stands 8 1/4 inches tall and holds up to 6 3/4 ounces. The traditional Mexican caballito, a slender small glass, suits the custom of swallowing the beverage in a single gulp. This glass, designed by the Austrian firm in consultation with tequila producers, is for serious tasting.

Riedel Crystal tequila glass, $9 to $12 at fine wine and spirits shops such as Wally’s, (310) 475-0606, and the Wine House, (310) 479-3731, in West Los Angeles and Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, (949) 650-8463.
