Triathlon to Benefit Children’s Hospitals
The Dina LaVigna Breath of Life Fund will hold its fourth annual benefit triathlon-relay July 7 at Marina Park in Ventura.
The fund is dedicated to the memory of Dina LaVigna, who died in 1997 of primary immunodeficiency, an often fatal genetic disease that afflicts mostly children. She was 33.
LaVigna, who grew up in Camarillo, graduated from UCLA. Proceeds from the triathlon will go to patient-care projects at the children’s hospital at UCLA Medical Center and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, where she was treated as a child.
