So-Called Slums Are Like Home to Fans

From Wire Reports

Some fans visiting Japan are being forced to live in the slums.

“That just goes to show how clean and affluent Japan is if this is considered to be the worst area,” said Phil Humphreys, an English soccer fan who has been staying at a hotel in Sanya, the down-and-out section of Tokyo. “It’s a good find.”

The 23-year-old former sales manager isn’t the only fan who has made Sanya his home during the World Cup.

Dozens of foreigners have converged there, a contrast to the usual crowd of homeless in the streets.
