$4 Million in Marijuana Found in Yam Shipment
From Times Wire Reports
Agents found more than 2 tons of marijuana, worth at least $4 million, hidden in a container of yams on a ship from Jamaica, the U.S. Customs Service said.
A drug-sniffing dog alerted customs inspectors to the shipment as it was being taken off the container ship Seaboard Express at the Port of Miami on Thursday, officials said.
More than 100 boxes of yams contained wrapped bricks of marijuana weighing 4,344 pounds, agents said. The ship had sailed from Kingston.
