Lakewood Edges Edison

Andrew McEachin walked in the winning run on a full-count pitch with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning and Lakewood upset Huntington Beach Edison, 2-1, to advance to the semifinals of the Loara tournament.

Tommy Grady pitched five innings for the Chargers (2-1), giving up five hits and one run. Edison is No. 2 in The Times’ preseason rankings.

Lakewood (3-0) will play Downey today at 3 at Anaheim Glover Stadium.

Dana Hills 11, Placentia El Dorado 3--Jeff Flaig had a home run, double and two runs batted in, but it wasn’t enough for No. 6 El Dorado (2-1).

La Habra Sonora 1, Santa Ana Mater Dei 0--Eric Hale (2-0) got his second shutout this season, giving up five hits, in an upset of the No. 5 Monarchs (2-1) in the Newport Elks tournament.
