Puka Puka: There’s a great place in Silver Lake that’s barely ever opened called the Tiki Ti. And it’s these two older guys, and they sort of do this whole production when they make drinks and the drinks are amazing. They’re all tropical. The place fits maybe 25 people.

Electric Boogaloo: I love to go dancing every once in a while at Cherry. It’s really fun because they play great music, a lot of old ‘70s rock and some ‘80s stuff. They go from one extreme to the next. You can just go in there and do your thing and no one lurks on you. There’s a bunch of freaks and you feel right at home. I love to dance anyway. I used to be a breakdancer back in the day, like 15 years ago. I was really into dancing, and now, with the band, it’s very seldom that I can get out and do that.

Brunch Spot: In our neighborhood, there’s a restaurant called the Crest. We have Sunday brunch there. It’s over on Sunset around the Sunset Junction area. It’s not only the food that’s good, but the atmosphere. A couple of drag queen guys work there--out of drag--during the day and they’re awesome. A lot of the people in our neighborhood eat there and it feels like your little home base. I love to walk into a place where people know you and remember you.

Mosh-Free Zone: I love the Troubadour because nobody is breathing down your neck to get out of the way of moshers. I’m a little tired of it. I went through that. We like to say, “Watch, don’t mosh.” We love that about our shows. I think it’s nice to be at a show where people are listening and singing and kind of dancing in their space. I really like to watch a band, and it sort of spoils it when the whole floor is taken up by a bunch of thugs who want to beat everyone up.

Safety Pins: There’s a shop right next to the Beauty Bar on Cahuenga Boulevard that just opened. It’s called Blest, and I think it’s one of the coolest new boutiques, because the girl that runs it has a lot of freelance artist-designers come in and she also does her own line. Basically, all the clothes in there are handmade, and I have my line in there called Blasphemous Girl. It’s a London-type shop, very punk-inspired.
