NO. 4 PACIFIC (20-9) vs. NO. 1 UTAH STATE (22-6), 6--This game is a rematch of last year’s tournament final, which was won by Utah State, 50-38. The Aggies went on to upset Ohio State in an NCAA tournament first-round game. Utah State took a step toward winning its third consecutive Big West tournament by dispatching Idaho, 61-41, on Thursday. Pacific will be no such pushover. The Tigers, who defeated Cal State Northridge, 78-66, have reached the tournament final three times in the last five years.

No. 2 UC IRVINE (21-9) vs. No. 3 UC SANTA BARBARA (18-10), 8:30--Irvine beat Long Beach State, 72-65, and is in the semifinals for the second year in a row. The Anteaters got a big game from sophomore center Adam Parada against the 49ers and they will need another against a Santa Barbara team that ranks among the best in the nation in field-goal percentage defense at 37.6%.
