Where Have You Been Lately?

I spent almost a month in Tahiti, on Moorea, last July. It’s a great place to take a family trip. The ocean is as blue and clean as it gets, and the beaches are pristine. There’s a lot of traditional native culture in Tahiti. The men are fishermen. Every day you’re on the beach having fruit for breakfast, and you see everyone piling by on their Tahitian canoes. The women are very much into their native French Polynesian dances. The food is pretty good. For fine dining, Te Honu Iti Chez Roger in Cook’s Bay is a good spot. And Le Cocotier, which serves French and local Tahitian cuisine, is a find for lunch. Discovery: Taimie beach is a really cool white sand beach, super safe, with no waves. The Sofitel built its hotel there but it’s really public property.
