Network Associates to Buy Back McAfee.com

Computer-security software provider Network Associates Inc. plans to buy back the publicly held shares of McAfee.com Corp., the consumer antivirus Web site it spun off in 1999, for about $205million in stock. Network Associates, which owns 75% of McAfee.com, hopes to acquire the remaining 25% and merge the companies. McAfee shares rose $3.91 to $19.45 on Nasdaq. Network Associates shares fell 26 cents to $27.35 on the New York Stock Exchange.
