UCLA catcher Stacey Nuveman set the NCAA softball record for home runs when she hit a solo drive Saturday in a 10-1 Pacific 10 Conference victory over Oregon State at Corvallis, Ore. It was the 86th in her career.

Nuveman, a 6-foot senior from La Verne, has 16 homers this season and moved past Arizona All-Americans Leah Braatz and Laura Espinoza, who had 85.

Tairia Mims, who drove in four runs, and Crissy Buck, who had two runs batted in, each hit home runs for UCLA (46-6, 14-3 in conference play), the top-ranked team in the nation and the Pac-10 co-leader with Arizona. Amanda Freed (19-2) gave up three hits in seven innings. She struck out five and walked four.
