Ice Chest Containing Human Eyeballs Missing

A courier from a medical clinic told authorities Monday that an ice chest containing human eyeballs was missing from his vehicle, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
The courier said he was employed by an eye clinic to take the eyeballs to Los Angeles for transplantation. Officials at the clinic declined comment.
Eyeballs from cadavers are used to provide corneas for transplant.
