TONIGHT

DODGERS’

HIDEO NOMO

(2-4, 2.56 ERA)

vs.

BRAVES’

TOM GLAVINE

(5-1, 0.93 ERA)

Update--Former Dodger Gary Sheffield has struggled because of a wrist injury, but the Brave right fielder had three hits in Sunday’s win over St. Louis to raise his average from .207 to .230. Seeing Nomo on the mound could help--Sheffield has a career .524 average with three homers and six runs batted in against the right-hander. Glavine has been the Braves’ best pitcher this season, but the Dodgers are 5-0 against left-handed starters, and catcher Paul Lo Duca has five hits in seven at-bats against Glavine. Nomo has been effective, except for some control problems, but he has received little support--the Dodgers have scored 10 runs in his six starts, only seven during the 382/3 innings Nomo has been in the game, the worst run support in the National League.

Wednesday, 4 p.m.--Odalis Perez (3-1, 1.75) vs. Kevin Millwood (2-3, 4.28).

Thursday, 4:30 p.m.--Andy Ashby (2-2, 3.16) vs. Damian Moss (0-0, 2.61).
