The 2nd Amendment, Spelled Out
The 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, among the amendments known as the Bill of Rights, was ratified in 1791. It reads as follows:
“A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
