Man, 22, Arrested on Suspicion of Carjacking
A Ventura man was arrested on suspicion of carjacking after leading police on a four-mile chase, authorities said Thursday.
David Clark, 22, was booked on suspicion of carjacking, auto theft and resisting arrest after the Wednesday night incident, Ventura Police Lt. Dave Wilson said.
Officers confronted Clark while responding to a vandalism call in the 200 block of Vince Street about 9:30 p.m., Wilson said.
Clark ran and jumped into a car that was stopped on Ventura Avenue, Wilson said. The driver jumped from the vehicle and was unhurt. Officers pursued Clark at speeds of up to 75 mph before he entered the Ventura County Medical Center parking lot and surrendered, Wilson said.
