Honky-Tonk Haiku

Share

I enjoyed “Versed in Traffic Control” (May 18), which told of a man who plastered haiku-style poems he called “honku” around his neighborhood as a protest against drivers honking their horns. Soon others plastered local lampposts with similar poems. My favorite:

We walk happily

You honk in snarled traffic

Who gets there first? Us!

I would like to share my own poem along these lines. Maybe others will join me. My bumper sign says:

Just back off;

This is as fast

As I plan to go.
