Four people suffered minor wounds early Saturday at a fast-food restaurant in what police called a gang-related shooting. Officers shot and captured one of the attackers when he and two accomplices tried to flee, Westminster police said.

According to police, Westminster officers near Brookhurst Street heard gunshots about 2:30 a.m. Police said four people at Alberto’s Mexican Food, whom they declined to identify, were wounded. When officers arrived, they saw a dark Acura speeding away.

The car turned onto McFadden Avenue, heading toward Santa Ana, with police in pursuit. The chase ended at Ward Street when the car struck a utility pole.

Officers wounded and arrested one person after he fled the vehicle. Two others escaped into a residential area.

Police said they didn’t know whether the wounded suspect had fired at them or whether the other two suspects were hit by police bullets. Officers said they recovered three handguns left behind by what they said were Vietnamese American gang members.

The four victims were taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center and treated for minor wounds, police said. The captured suspect was taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, where he was reported to be in critical but stable condition.
