Script HMO

Share

What a laugh! You talk about many “A-list” script doctors sometimes making between $200,000 and $300,000 per week.

Inside a movie theater, where the average person is waiting to be entertained, ask someone if they know who the screenwriter is. Ask them if they know who the script doctor is. Ask them if they care.

“One A-list script surgeon adds, ‘We make a lot of money, and a lot of people hate us, but a lot of movies wouldn’t get made without script doctors....’ ”

Our take on this? Puhleese! Too many garbage movies get made for too much money.

We are doing rewrites and script doctoring. But we are not yet considered “A-list.” Maybe “D-list.” We sometimes make between $2,000 and $3,000 per week, or $4,000 per job. But we are quick. Can bang it out usually in a week -- and it works.

A top-line producer in town has twice given us a script and told us to get rid of 20 pages, but to make sure it won’t be noticeable to the original writer or anyone else. Done.

After that, let’s just say we have no problem working anonymously in the business. We’ll consider it paying our dues.
