Biological Threats
Thank you for “Beef Up the Biotreaty,” your Nov. 12 editorial urging Undersecretary of State for Arms Control John Bolton to work to strengthen the biological weapons treaty rather than subvert it. The U.S. must do all it can to ensure that all nations that have biological agents be required to submit to international standards for their use, storage and disposal. This is the only way to slow the spread of dangerous biological and toxic weapons. As you point out, new technologies are resulting in an alarming increase in the bioweapons danger to Americans and to the rest of the world.
