Anti-War Rally Draws Activists to Veterans
Military veterans and mothers pushing strollers were among the hundreds who rallied Sunday at Balboa Park against a possible war with Iraq.
Some activists beat drums while others chanted anti-war slogans and hoisted colorful banners reading “Let Iraq Live” and “Patriots for Peace.”
The rally, which was held several miles from the North Island Naval Air Station in Coronado, was attended by an estimated 475 people, police said.
There were no reports of arrests or problems at what supporters billed as a family-friendly “peace walk.”
