Father Guilty in Death of Toddler Left in Van
A father of 13 was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment in the death of his toddler daughter, who was left in a van for seven hours on a hot day.
Kevin Kelly showed no emotion at the verdicts. His wife and children could be heard sobbing as they left the courtroom.
Frances Kelly, 21 months, died May 29 after she was left in her car seat in the family’s van outside their Manassas home.
An autopsy said that the girl died of hyperthermia and that an hour after her death, her body temperature was 105 degrees.
