Coastal Desecration

Re “More Tanker Oil Hits Shore,” Nov. 22: Can we please put an end to considering drilling offshore of California? The Spanish tragedy is only the latest proof that the potential ecological and economic harms far outweigh the potential benefits of locating oil in our precious coastal waters. Let us devote more resources to developing alternative energy sources and improving fuel economy. I am willing to pay higher gas prices if it means my children and their children will enjoy the beaches and sea life that still abounds.
