New look for Dickens’ classic
What can you count on after Thanksgiving -- besides turkey leftovers? South Coast Repertory’s annual holiday mainstay, Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” of course. The company is promising “a fresh new look” for the show to go with its newly refurbished setting, the Segerstrom Stage. But a familiar face, Hal Landon Jr., will play Scrooge as he has for two decades.
“A Christmas Carol,” South Coast Repertory, 655 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa. Previews begin Saturday; regular performances start Dec. 6. Tuesdays-Fridays, 7:30 p.m., except Dec. 4-5, 11:30 a.m. only. Saturdays, 2:30 and 7:30 p.m., Sundays, noon and 4 p.m. Ends Dec. 24. $18-$43. (714) 708-5555.
