Gov. Jesse Ventura says the nation’s election turnout is “pathetic.” But he was among Minnesotans who didn’t vote in the primary.

The governor spent much of primary day in meetings with commissioners, then attended a Minnesota Twins baseball game with a group from St. Joseph’s Home for Children, his office said.

A week after the primary, Ventura accepted an award from Kids Voting Minnesota, a group dedicated to educating young people about the importance of voting.

“Did you know that in the United States, only 50% of adults vote?” he told the youngsters. “That’s pathetic.”
