Body Identified as That of Westwood Man

A body recovered from the ocean off El Segundo is that of a 23-year-old Westwood man who disappeared Sept. 18 amid indications he had been despondent over losing his job, police said Friday.
The body of Frank Vincent Meli was found near a buoy anchor on the ocean floor Wednesday by lifeguards during a training exercise.
Police recovered Meli’s Chevy Blazer from a man who said he had found it abandoned Sept. 18 at Dockweiler State Beach. Officials said a boater reported a man swimming near the buoy that same day.
