FOXBORO, Mass.--The New England Revolution reached its first MLS championship game, surviving a late collapse and tying the Columbus Crew, 2-2, Saturday.

The Revolution needed just a tie to win the first-to-five-points series. They began the game leading, 4-1, getting three points for a 1-0 win at Columbus last Wednesday and one for a 0-0 tie the previous Saturday.

New England plays for the title next Sunday in Foxboro against the Galaxy, which beat Colorado in the other semifinal. The site of the game was set before the season.
