Mario Lemieux scored his first two goals since late January, Aleksey Morozov had two goals in the opening six minutes, and the Pittsburgh Penguins rebounded from their worst opening game loss ever, beating the New York Rangers, 6-0, Saturday night at Pittsburgh.

Defenseman Dick Tarnstrom, scratched from the Penguins’ 6-0 loss to Toronto on Thursday, had a goal and two assists to help Pittsburgh open a 4-0 lead with 6:30 left in the first period.

“We worked well together and moved the puck well,” Lemieux said. “Especially after the last game, it was important to get off a quick start and get the crowd into it and get some confidence.”
