Gadsden Might Be Out for Year

Miami receiver Oronde Gadsden might sit out the rest of the season after spraining his left wrist in the Dolphins’ 24-22 victory over Denver on Sunday.

Gadsden was listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against Buffalo.

Miami’s other starting receiver, Chris Chambers, has a concussion and also was listed as questionable. As it is, the Dolphins will be forced to turn to a backup at quarterback, where Ray Lucas will replace Jay Fiedler, who has a broken thumb.

Gadsden hurt his wrist in the first half at Denver but played the rest of the game.

Quarterback Trent Green sat out practice because of a sore left ankle and Kansas City Coach Dick Vermeil said it was only “60-40” that Green would play Sunday against Denver.

Green hurt the ankle just before halftime of the Chiefs’ 35-34 loss at San Diego on Sunday. Green managed to play in the second half.

Atlanta quarterback Michael Vick was back at practice, saying his right shoulder feels fine and that he plans to start against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

“No pain. No pain. It’s good,” Vick said after a two-hour practice. “There’s no doubt I should be able to start.”

Coach Dan Reeves was more guarded in his assessment, saying Vick remains questionable.

Chicago quarterback Jim Miller did not practice because of tendinitis in his throwing shoulder and elbow, and is listed as questionable for Sunday at Detroit. Miller said he expects to play.

Buffalo running back Shawn Bryson will be sidelined indefinitely after having surgery for torn cartilage in his left knee. Bryson was injured in the Bills’ 31-24 victory at Houston on Sunday.

San Francisco put backup fullback Terry Jackson on injured reserve because of a torn knee ligament suffered in Monday’s game at Seattle. Jackson will have surgery today.

Carolina offensive lineman Chris Terry did not attend practice, and Coach John Fox initially had no idea of the right tackle’s whereabouts.

Fox said after practice that Terry’s absence could be “miscommunication, but we’re still gathering information.”

Later, team spokesman Charlie Dayton said the team had been in contact with Terry.

“He was out of town on a legal matter and thought the team had been informed,” Dayton said.

Terry has a court hearing scheduled for next week on charges of assaulting his wife, Nyquell Jackson-Terry, during an altercation in their home in July.

He has denied hitting his wife, but a protective order keeps him away from their home and the school and day-care centers their children attend.

According to court papers filed by his wife, Terry has been tested for drugs more than a dozen times by the NFL in recent months.

Four men were arrested for running an illegal gambling site in a motor home across the street from Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fans were encouraged to open credit accounts with a Costa Rica-based gambling Web site, and the men were soliciting wagers ranging from $25 to $100,000 on Sunday, police said.
