PIERO SELVAGGIO

Sicily-born owner of Valentino restaurant in Santa Monica

“ ‘The Sopranos’! I love the stereotype -- the American Italian immigrant revisited and modernized by [producer] David Chase, who happens to be a friend of mine. I love the psychiatrist, Dr. Melfi. She’s cool. I also watch Italian news on my satellite.”

WOLFGANG PUCK

Chef and restaurant owner

“I don’t watch a lot of television, but my two favorite shows are ‘The Simpsons’ and ‘Frasier.’ It’s always fun to try to guess who the celebrity voices are and to see the cameo appearances.”

ELAYNE BOOSLER

Comic and owner of two dogs

“I stay up all night watching the Food Network. I don’t know why I do. I know how it’s going to end up: The chicken dies.

I’m hooked on [Nickelodeon’s] ‘SpongeBob SquarePants.’ It’s witty, trenchant and has morality tales. We always have one television on Animal Planet. I love the pet psychic on that network, although I think I’m a much better pet psychic. Oh, and don’t ever call me between 6 and 7 p.m. because that’s when I live for ‘The NewsHour With Jim Lehrer.’

DICK MESSER

Executive director of the Petersen Automotive Museum

“I watch Speed Channel, which is great for car guys like me.... And on the Discovery Channel is ‘Monster Garage.’ A motorcycle fabricator named Jesse James -- he’s a real descendant of the bandit -- is the star of the show, and he puts together a team of people that build cars into other functions. They took a limousine and made it into a firetruck that had a hose coming through the sunroof.”
