350 Pounds of Pot Found Near Border
Border Patrol agents discovered more than 350 pounds of marijuana packed in duffel bags and hidden in scrub brush in the desert near the Mexican border, officials announced Wednesday.
Tuesday afternoon, agents stationed near the border about 25 miles east of Tecate saw 10 men bolting south toward Mexico. The agents gave chase, but the men made it to the border fence and crossed.
The agents found seven military-style duffel bags containing marijuana with a street value of about $280,000, said Gloria Chavez of the Border Patrol.
